What To Expect During Registration

  • Please be prepared to upload a electronic copy of your child's birth certificate during the registration process.
  • You will need to download the NCYSA Medical Waiver Form, upload a copy (during registration), and take the original to your assigned coach.

Financial Aid/ Scholarships

Our goal is to ensure that every player has an opportunity to play. Seashore Soccer League offer two different programs that can help families that are experiencing a financial hardship.

The first option is found within the registration asking if the family would like to request financial assistance. By providing certain information and uploading specific documents, a family may receive between 10% to 50% off the total registration fee.

The second option is submitting an application for a scholarship. Applications are reviewed by the SSL Staff to determine if the player is eligible . Scholarships will cover the entire registration fee and uniform cost for the player.  More information about the scholarship program and the application can be found using the link below.

Any information provided or applications submitted will be held in confidence and not shared by anyone outside SSL Staff.

Questions about having players "playing up" an age group

Parents and coaches may have questions about having a player playing up into a different age group. Here is some information about this situation.

  • A parent or coach can contact their Area Coordinator or Dennis, the Club Director. Then they will make arrangements to have that player assessed to see what the next step will be.
  • The player in question should be able to demonstrate proficiency in all the necessary skills for that age group. A player being dominant does not mean that they are ready for the next level. An example is a player who can steal the ball and dribble up and score. That is not showing proficiency in a skill set. A player who can dribble the ball, pass to a teammate, move to the correct spot to receive a pass, and then can shoot shows that they are ready to learn more.
  • Based on the assessment, it may be determined that the player would benefit more from staying in the same age group, but joining one of the competitive teams. This is an option that will be discussed with the parents. Or it may be decided to have the player move up an age group.

Junior Sessions

There will be two sessions for Juniors each season at two locations, Rotary Park and Western Park. One will be held at the start of the season and the other will be held during the last part of the season. Each session has a limit of 15 players. **Players can only register for one session at one location each season.** This is to give everyone a chance to participate.

What is SDP (Seashore Developmental Program)?

The Seashore Development Program (SDP) offers players an opportunity to receive extra time outside of the normal programs. Players will attend a technical practice with one of our competitive teams (Academy or Classic) that is devoted to developing certain skills such as dribbling, passing, ball control, etc. In keeping with our Mission Statement of " One Club...Many Paths" we want to give all of our players the opportunities to reach that next level.

Players will register similarly to the above program but will select the optional training session each week by coaching staff at a central location (TBD). Teams will still be coached 2X weekly, along with their matches, by their normal volunteer coach. The difference here is that players will have the opportunity to attend professional lead technical sessions with our coaching staff for a total of 3 practices per week.
